Delegate FAQ
Conference FAQs
Below are a list of frequently asked questions or concerns, but if your question is not answered here, don't hesitate to contact us (mclary@auburn.edu) with your questions.
What are the dress expectations for the conference?
The dress code for AMUNI is 'Western Business' attire. This means a suit, jacket and slacks/skirt, etc. Items to avoid include t-shirts, shorts, jeans, hats, or clothing that wouldn't be appropriate in a formal setting.
Note: Delegates should not wear clothing from their assigned member-state unless it is part of the individual's usual attire. Culturally insensitive clothing is not acceptable at AMUNI.
Should I bring anything with me to the conference?
Delegates should ideally bring a laptop or tablet with them to the conference to assist with the production of resolutions and/or research; although delegates will not be disadvantaged should they not have a laptop.
Delegates should also plan to bring paper and writing utensil to send notes to other delegates or to take notes.
Finally, delegates should bring food or money/card for lunch (as lunch is not provided by the conference).
Is there Wifi available at the conference?
YES! You should connect to the AU_Guest SSID/network and follow the instructions once connected.
Where can I find information about my member-state or a specific issue/topic?
The first option is to give it a search online. Should that not bare fruit, the second option is to ask your faculty advisor/coach. The third option is to reach out to the Home Country table in the conference room that should be able to help you answer your question.
Can I leave my personal items in the room during breaks and lunch?
While technically you can leave your materials behind, AMUNI nor Auburn Model United Nations are responsible for monitoring your items, so to be safe, take your items with you!
